Brazilian modders TecLab stripped a Galax RTX 5090D HOF OC Lab XOC, removed its 16-pin connectors, and soldered wires directly onto the PCB. Drawing about 50A on the 12V rail (~600W), the bare GPU ran benchmarks under a liquid chiller. The group says the mod is a critique of NVIDIA's connector melting problems.
